NEW ORLEANS, La. - Toccoa Kahovec of the Cal Lutheran women's
cross country team was named to the United States Track and Field and Cross
Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) all-Academic Team on Monday.

Scholar Athletes are determined from among those who earned
All-Academic status and placed highest individually at the most recent
NCAA Championships.
Kahovec, a junior from Saugus, Calif. is well-known on and off the courses
and tracks on a national level after receiving this same honor last year. She
is one of 170 NCAA Division III female student-athletes to earn recognition in
2010.
On the courses this season she earned her first trip to the NCAA National
Championships this season where she finished 115th overall. Kahovec has
continued to improve during her three seasons on the Regals squad finishing 14th,
ninth and fourth at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(SCIAC) Championship meet, respectively.
Jennifer Gossels of Williams College was named the
Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year. She currently maintains a 4.0 grade point
average as a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics, and finished
second at the national championships this past season.
