THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – With the fall season right around the corner, the Cal Lutheran men’s and women’s cross country teams have released its schedule that features two Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) meets and seven total events in 2016.
The Kingsmen and Regals will be off to the races for their season-opener at the Biola Invitational in La Mirada, Calif. on Saturday, Sept. 10. The men will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the women starting at 8:45 a.m.
The following meet, on Sept. 17, takes the Violet and Gold to the UC Riverside Invitational for the second consecutive year where the Regals get started at 7:30 a.m. followed by the Kingsmen at 8:05 a.m.
The first Saturday of October brings on conference competition, as CLU will compete in the SCIAC Multi-Duals held in La Mirada, Calif. followed by the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational two weeks later on Oct. 15.
Cal Lutheran will then have two weeks to prepare for the SCIAC Championships, which will be held at Prado Park in Chino Hills, Calif. and are set for Oct. 29 at 9:00 a.m. At the conclusion of each race a SCIAC champion will be crowned as determined by a combination of points earned at the Multi-Duals and Championships.
Qualifiers will advance to the NCAA Division III Cross Country West Regionals in Salem, Ore. on Saturday, Nov. 12 with the top runners advancing from there to the NCAA Division III National Championships in Louisville, Ky. on Nov. 19.
